The JOICO Color Talent Awards are coming back for 2027, with a range of new categories desgined to recognize and reward exceptional talent in hair color – pushing creativity, showcasing artistry, and celebrating the power of hair color.
To reflect the diverse range of talent and expertise within the industry, next year will see awards handed out over categories including;
- Creative Color Award – For skilled, visionary professionals who want to demonstrate their mastery of hair color with innovative color techniques and creative expression.
- Artistic Vision Award – Dedicated to visionary colorists who push the boundaries of hair artistry with avant-garde creativity and experimental concepts.
- In-Salon Transformation – For real salon transformations which bring real-life salon magic to the spolight.
The JOICO Color Talent Awards 2027 winners will receive exclusive opportunities and exciting prizes. Each category will have an overall winner, as well as 2nd and 3rd place finalists.
Among the fantastic prizes JOICO has for for 1st place winners are guest apperances at JOICO events, JOICO Professional product bundles, PR and social media coverage, and cash prizes to help bring creativity to life.
The JOICO Color Talent Awards
In their first year, the JOICO Color Talent Awards received more than 200 entries from across EMEA, with each one demonstrating the passion that hairdressers have for creating outstanding color palattes and fusing them with creative cutting and styling.
Monika Woźniak from Hair Colorist Studio in Poland was the overall ‘Winner’ of the first JOICO Color Talent Awards, winning her own professional photoshoot with the JOICO European Creative Team, alongside media coverage in industry trade press and exclusive social media coverage. To help bring her hair creativity to life, Monika also won €2.500.
Commenting on her JOICO Color Talent win, Monika said it was the moment she stopped thinking of her work “simply as a job”, adding: “I began to understand that it is something much more – a passion that I want to develop every single day. It was the fulfilment of my professional dream and confirmation that I am exactly where I’m meant to be.”
The Color Talent Awards judges are a group of the most experienced industry creatives who have a wealth of experience.
Among them are Bruno Marc Giamattei, JOICO EMEA Creative Director, Ashlee Norman, Hairstylist, Educator and Social Media Influencer, Bona Jörg, JOICO Creative Color Artist EMEA, Wendy van der Helm, JOICO EMEA Creative Education Manager and Svea Pohl, JOICO EMEA Marketing Manager Color.
“I’m looking forward to seeing stylists experiment with unique color combinations and techniques in their entries,” said Bruno Marc Giamattei.

Entries for the JOICO Color Talent Awards 2027 open on the 1st of October 2026 and close on the 31st of March 2027. Judging will take place in April 2027 and the winners will be announced on Instagram in April 2027.
